Lest We Forget.
These words have been the hallmark of world Jewry since the Holocaust some 60 years ago. During this dark period
in our history, we lost six million innocent men, women and children, their lives cut short simply because of who
they were and what they believed.
The only way we can prevent history from repeating itself is by remembering the tragedy that befell our people. We
must remember the men and women who were the cornerstones of our people and who made the ultimate sacrifice.
And we must remember the children, those innocent boys and girls whose lives were full of hope and promise, but who
were robbed of the chance to grow up, to build homes of their own and to thrive.
The founder of the Laniado Hospital, the Grand Rebbe of Sanz Klausenberg, Rabbi YEKUTIEL Yehuda Halberstam, of
blessed memory, was all too familiar with the tragedy of the Holocaust. He survived, yet his wife and 11 children
were murdered.
But he did not despair. Instead, he kept on living, fueled by the belief that HE WAS SAVED for a purpose: to help
others. He built Laniado to fulfill this mission, and in so doing, he endowed the Jewish people with the legacy of
life.
In keeping with the Grand Rebbe's legacy, Laniado has launched a Living Memorial Program at its new Children's
Hospital in memory of the one-and-a-half million children who perished in the Holocaust.
This Living Memorial isn't just a monument for those who passed away; it is an opportunity for the public to help
heal the sick children of today's generation. It is a project that creates an inexorable link between the millions
of children our people lost and millions of children who will now become our future.
Lest We Forget.
Laniado Remembers. Now So Can You.
You can be a part of Laniado's Living Memorial Program by dedicating the memory of a child of the Holocaust.
Using the latest computerized technology, Laniado Hospital will create a Living Memorial for each child who died in
the Holocaust WITH APPROPRIATE RECOGNITION OF the donor who has chosen to perpetuate HIS OR HER memory. Every detail
known about the child will be recorded graphically along with details of the donor's family.
A permanent exhibit featuring these memorials will be installed in the new Children's Hospital and will be available
for viewing upon request.
The funds raised through this program will be used to enhance the quality of care at the Children's Hospital. By
joining this program, donors will not only honor the memory of the deceased, but will also give today's children the
care they need to grow up happy and healthy - and to fulfill the Jewish People's legacy.
